Very bad Lagging sending orders, cancelling, and exiting orders

Tour app lags very bad when placing orders sometimes. It will literally kick me out after I have sent in an order and I try to restart and it cannot go past the orders thing that it loads before going into the chart. The order system has lost me a few accounts because of this order lagging problem. Even when I am on the chart. A lot of times I try to exit a trade and it will not exit just get the pop up that order is trying to go through but it takes sometimes a minute or two. That is crazy because like I said before, I have lost a few accounts because I couldnt exit or because the app kicked me out and I couldnt get back in. I hope you guys can fix this issue because trading on a platform that doesn not react to the entry exit buttons immediately is detrimental to anyones trading and any good trader will not use a platform like that. The other issue with this lagging of the order system is that sometimes I would be able to finally get out of the trade but my stops and take profits would not go away and before it would start working again, my account was blown because since my order was no longer in the system, price hit my stops and entered a new trade that I did not want and because of the extreme lagging. I have many trader friends that stopped using your guys app because of this problem with the orders. Sad to say I have to stop using your platform and inform my friends to not use your platform either until a time when you guys can fix this problem with the extreme lagging of the order system.

    Hey @skrysiak3085 ,

Thank you for the detailed feedback. I totally understand.

Unfortunately, the issue that you're describing is not a tradingthings issue, but a Rithmic API issue. We have already informed Rithmic and have been in contact with them for multiple weeks to help them improve their API performance.

As a quick background, tradingthings runs in your browser and connects to the Rithmic API directly. There's no service in between, so if you send an order, it goes to Rithmic directly. If it takes longer for the order to be processed, for example if there's a delay when you place an order or when you exit a position, this is an issue with Rithmic's API. tradingthings is not involved in that.

Unfortunately, the issue is outside of our control, and we are constantly in contact with Rithmic to push them to improve their systems.

We recently introduced a new application logging system, which you can enable by going to Settings → Logs → Enable.

In addition to that, in the top-right corner of that page, you can enable "Capture Lag Events," which specifically captures if there's a delay on Rithmic's end.

After you have those logs enabled, if you ever run into an issue that causes you to lose a trade or something similar, you can download the logs and provide them to your prop firm together with a link to our detailed log analyzer. This can show your prop firm that there was lag on Rithmic's end.

The prop firm can import and view the lag proof here:

To stay up to date on issues with the Rithmic API, I would also recommend joining the tradingthings Discord:

Rithmic actually increased the capacity of the Chicago gateway last weekend, so performance should have improved.

Could you please let me know which Rithmic gateway you are connected to, e.g. Chicago, Frankfurt, or São Paulo?

The Chicago gateway is currently the recommended gateway.

Please let me know if you need any help with locating the logs etc.

    Best regards,
