thousands of prop firm traders are stuck on Tradovate's outdated interface or NinjaTrader's clunky desktop app because there is no modern, web-based platform that supports CQG. TradingThings already nails this for Rithmic — clean UI, real-time P&L tracking, TradingView charts, automated journaling — but CQG traders have zero options like this.
Since ProjectX went Topstep-exclusive in February 2026, every other prop firm (Lucid Trading, Take Profit Trader, Tradeify, etc.) migrated their CQG traders to Tradovate or NinjaTrader. Those platforms don't show real-time account performance the way ProjectX did, and there's nothing in the CQG ecosystem filling that gap.
Adding CQG connectivity would make TradingThings the only modern web-based platform for CQG traders — no competition whatsoever. The demand is there: Lucid alone runs CQG accounts through Tradovate and NinjaTrader, and traders are actively looking for a better frontend.
